Brokel let out a shaky breath as he regained consciousness slowly. He had started training close to an hour ago, he noticed as he looked at the clock, in Training Room Seven. A rather scary thing had happened to him. He had started training with a Ki exercise, and noticed that his Ki was substantially stronger than before. Without the heartbeat effect too. So, having figured out how to trigger that heartbeat effect in the battle with that guard, Brokel released it.
And he passed out. He had overexerted himself and blew all his Ki when he released it. It would have made for an impressive attack boost, although his life would have been pretty much forfeit. That was a scary thought to have. It was lucky of him to have controlled it in the fight with Uppy.
No. It wasn't luck, it was his instinct that controlled the burn. He was using too much thought at the time of his blackout. He wanted to consciously control it too much. That wasn't a bad thing to do in training. Things like that were the reason for training.
Taking a deep breath, Brokel charged up his Ki again. Training Room Seven was made specifically for training Ki, so there were Ki dampeners and absorbers built into the very walls of the well-sized room. Once at max Ki, Brokel expelled it at the wall in his signature Energy Wave; watching as the whole wall began glowing a vibrant blue, absorbing and spreading the energy from the blast. None of it could be felt from outside either. Quite stunning technology.
Then Brokel released his potential again with a hearty 'HYAH!', this time letting his instinct take control for him. The wave surged with more power, and the walls brightened in response to the increase. Brokel could tell the difference, mainly because he was still awake.The tricky part was changing the amount of his potential he released at once. Controlling the burn consciously. He'd already passed out several times trying to figure it out, but every time he got closer; with his instinct breakthrough, he knew he was on the edge of doing it. It probably had to do with instinct itself.
And after a few wavering seconds, Brokel finally assumed conscious control of the burn. All he had to do was give in to the instinct. All that struggle, and he finally could fluctuate the burn. It was simple to do too! Brokel was confident he had reached a new level of Ki control today. On top of figuring out how to boost his beams-at the cost of being exhausted depending on how long and how intense he burned his extra potential- his actual Ki attacks were more focused and potent now.
Sitting heavily on his rear after that Ki training, the timer now said he had been training for over 1.5 hours. Certain that he wouldn't have any more Ki breakthroughs, Brokel stopped the timer, rested on a comfortable bench, and moved on to Training Room Thirteen.
This TR was used to train physically. It was evenly portioned into areas for strength and endurance and speed(and all that was concerned with it, like agility) and cardio. Brokel made his way over to the strength and endurance zone, and piled on three quarters of his max weightlifting and did sets of twenty reps, doing sit-ups and crunches in-between sets. He didn't want to tire out just yet, so he only did four sets. After resting up and wiping down with a towel, Brokel moved on to the speed and cardio zone. Here was where he'd wear himself out. After doing the normal precursory stretches, Brokel did the easy workouts first: tire drills, the obstacle course, 'quick feet,' et cetera et cetera. After roughly twenty minutes of those, done at blurring speed because of Brokel's unnatural fleetness, he moved on to the most intense of the coordination drills: a lovely machine he liked to call the Toe Cooker.
The Toe Cooker was a contraption consisting of a plethora of rings chained together varying in diameter from small to tiny, with the largest no larger than the roundness of a soda can. And those were really large compared to the other rings. What did the Toe Cooker do? it was basically like the tire run's maniacal, homicidal cousin from out of town. The basic idea was the same: run through without getting caught up and as quickly and cleanly as possible. The twists: only the tip of the big toe could fit in most of the rings, and if you touched the edge, about a kilowatt of electricity went right into your toe. Hence the name.
Another nasty surprise was that if the machine deemed it necessary to be more evil, the holes would randomly fill up with spikes when the lasers inside sensed a toe coming near. Not only would Brokel have to be precise, he'd have to be quick and ready to change his course.
He'd never cleanly gone through the course yet either. That didn't stop him. He loved it and would practice for hours on end on it. He only went through the torture for approximately forty-five minutes this time, and only because his stomach growled in protest to being empty for ten minutes.
He scorched through a meal and took a relaxing shower, then returned back to the mess hall and polished off four more plates of food.
