Calico yeowled in pain as teeth in his tail abruptly snapped him out of his daze!
"You monkey bastard!" Calico yelled, "Get yer teeth outta my tail!" Whapping Brokel upside the head, he jumped agilely to his feet, just to look at a bunch of red dots on his chest.
"Oooh," Calico murmured, slightly mesmerized by the glowing red dots, "Pretty..."
And then he looked up. One of the robots shot at where his sight aimed, missing the already moving Calico by a whisker! Talk about a reason to wake up!
"Take some Flak!" Calico roared, launching off three shots of his specialized kikouhas at the robots and taking off towards the closest piece of cover like a burning branch was attached to his tail.
Again.
Long story.

Sally froze with her hand on the girl's head, the red alarms going off around her. She was even more alarmed by the girl than the alarms because at least the alarms were really alarms. The girl wasn't a girl at all!
"You're a...... robot?" Sally McSally said, obviously surprised. The sheer number of electrical currents going through the girl -er, robot! She was a work of art! She was too complicated to be a robot! Her AI was too developed to be a robot! She was..... she was.... she was an android!
Sally McSally put a hand to her head, and fainted.

Lapis Lazuli attempted to explain herself, but Sally had fainted before she could say anything. The small child caught her and laid her down gently on the floor. She just wanted them out of the lab, she didn’t want to hurt any of them. “Miss? Miss, are you alright?” Lapis asked while shaking her. No response. Were androids really that scary to other people? Maybe this is why Papa never let her leave the laboratory. A loud commotion brought the android’s attention back to the other three intruders. ‘I see that the security drones are still active. It would appear that combat is inevitable,’ Lapis thought sullenly. She had finally met humans other than her father, and yet she was immediately force to fight them. Lapis still held out hope that they would either give up and walk away or she could incapacitate them without killing them. “This is your final warning to leave this place. Failure to comply will result in termination. The drones will not hesitate to enforce this!” There was a hint of pleading in Lapis Lazuli’s voice. She stepped away from Sally’s body and held out both hands in front of her. Electricity started to gather into her hands, forming a single orb between them. ‘Please listen to me. I have no wish to do this...’~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Nirvei looked about frantically as the alerts went off. Okay, so maybe there were people here. Who knew? It was awfully dusty in here. You would think that if there were still people around here that they would clean this place up. ‘Argh, what am I thinking?! Now is NOT the time!’ Nirvei mentally slapped herself for letting her mind wander. There was a crisis to deal with! Nirvei decided to work on the drones that were attacking the others first. There was a little girl that had shown up as well, but she wasn’t actually doing anything other than ordering them to leave. There was something about the situation that bothered her. None of the robots that had appeared were attacking her. They were all aiming for Brokel and Calico. Did they not see her as a threat? Were they programmed to only target races that were common on this planet? If Saiyans and cats were that common at least. Nirvei had no clue. The Keretian broke out into a sprint in the direction of the nearest drone. “What’s wrong? Scared to hit a girl?” she taunted. Nirvei lunged at one of the seven droids with one of her arms pulled back. Her hand clenched into a tight fist. She let her fist fly as soon as she was close enough, aiming for what looked like the chest area of the drone.

"Ow!" Brokel yelled angrily, poking his head out of a pile of metal junk. Calico had hit him hard! It didn't bother Brokel for long. He smiled as his blood started pumping, and began charging an Energy Wave. Something about the fight seemed amiss though.....
The robots were only targeting him and Calico. Well, at least Calico still had his armor on....
"Hyaaaaah!" Brokel jumped out of the junk pile and fired an Energy Wave at the closest robot's head.

Main Characters: Brokel, Nirvei, Calico Primary Goal(s): Escape the Eastern Capital Secondary Goal(s): Liberate the Old HerbalistScenario: As Nirvei's fist penetrated the guard bot's shell, it gave a high pitched tone, before exploding into a million pieces, possibly burning Nirvei's fist. The combined efforts of energy blasts from Brokel and Calico, respectively, however bounced right of their shells, as they talked in a monotone voice. "HOSTILE DETECTED! EXTERMINATE!"Their lasers now pointed at Nirvei as well, the robots opened rapid fire, perhaps firing eight shots every two seconds. A direct hit would leave a burn where it impacted. Meanwhile, above the area on the concrete, the unit of Hellspawn soldiers stood stationary, as the radar signal had not moved from that point... Suddenly, a messenger arrived... "Lieutant Dawt, we have formulated a map of the underground tunnels from the radar signals, it would seem that the tunnel leads out of the city and in to the desert no matter which route they take, Captain Stripe has already gone personally along with his bodyguard unit to locate where the tunnel will exit, it shouldn't be long now...Smiling a devious smile, the Lieutenant nodded in understanding, before sending the messenger off. It was that unit's job to track the signal and follow it, wherever it went. Back underground, the chatter and footsteps of the angry mob could be heard very loudly, it would not be long before they arrived at the fugitive group's location. Character Actions N/A

“Eep!” The explosion had knocked Nirvei back several meters. She didn’t think that one measly punch would cause the thing to explode. In retrospect, she probably could have planned that a bit better instead of just rushing in blindly. Oh well. At least she got one. ‘One down, six to go.’Unfortunately, the blast had injured her hand. ‘What’s up with me and hurting my hands like this? With the Hellspawn it was the left, and now the robots got the right,’ she thought in annoyance as she looked down on it. This time it may have been her fault, but that was beside the point. At the moment her hand was the least of her worries. The remaining drones had finally decided to make her a target. Nirvei was bombarded with a spray of lasers. She managed to jump behind a corner without taking too much damage. There were small burns covering her arms and legs though. Man, did they hurt. ‘Worry about it later. If we don’t do anything about those robots, they’ll be hurting a lot worse,’ she told herself. She looked over at Calico and Brokel to see how they were doing. They looked like they were holding up against the drones. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Lapis Lazuli fired off the ball of electricity, aiming for the wall behind Calico and Brokel. Once again, she just wanted to scare them off. If she could get them to leave with as little damage as possible then she would feel much better about the situation. The security drones had things taken care of for the moment. Lapis glanced down at the still unconscious Sally. One may have blown up already, but the child still had plenty of time to get Sally out of the way before the intruders started focusing on her. ‘This may be my only opportunity. A battlefield is no place to be sleeping,’ she though. Lapis grabbed Sally and hoisted her over her shoulder. The android then ran to the other side of the room and gently laid her back down on the floor behind a pile of debris. ‘That should be far enough away from the action.’ Now that that little problem was taken care of, Lapis headed back over to the drones and started charging her energy for another attack.

The Situation Date: Year 19 of Deragth's Reign Main Characters: Brokel, Nirvei, Calico Primary Goal(s): Escape the Eastern Capital Secondary Goal(s): Liberate the Old HerbalistScenario: Standing still taking enemy fire was not exactly the best thing to do as Brokel and Calico did just that. The robots perfectly locked on with their laser sights, ninety out of one hundred shots scored at least a scraping hit. This time, Calico's tail was indeed absolutely and utterly engulfed in blazing hot fire. Only one of the shots hit Nirvei as she dived for cover, now safe temporarily from enemy fire. Yet still, it seemed the men had not learned their lesson, as they refused to move from their sport, firing Ki Blasts that were unable to penetrate the robots' armor, a change of attack strategy was required if they were going to keep this up... Meanwhile, above ground, reports had arrived at the radar unit that the tunnel exit into the desert had finally been uncovered, under a sand dune, and it had been surrounded by Captain Stripe and his own personal bodyguard. The fugitives would not escape the Captain's clutches, especially if his own life was on the line. Back below ground, the footsteps that had once been a small sound, had erupted into a thunder-like one. Within a few short moments, mad civilians would enter, all eager to claim the prize money as their own... How would the fugitives get out of this situation?Character Actions N/A

Apparently, Calico's ki attacks had no effects, but the girl had the right idea! Calico put his tail out while behind his cover. He hurt all over from the burns, they hit him alot even though he was moving evasively. Those must be some pretty advanced laser targeting systems. Calico smiled, because he could do something that would throw them hound dogs off his trail! And put him in the fire from the frying pan, but the point was there!
Calico took a deep breath, and teleported in between two of the guardbots. Nasty lookin things, they were. he jumped and did a split kick, aiming for their heads and landing in a tumble towards the other guardbots. This fat cat wasn't going down without a fight!

Brokel used his Superior Speed and agility to his advantage. He corkskrewed around a big volley of the shots, and as he moved thier aim adjusted to follow. It may have looked to the eye like almost evey shot hit Brokel, but only more than half scraped him as he dashed for cover.
His beam didn't do anything other than garner attention. No damage at all was visible, but Brokel saw Nirvei's hit. He figured that whoever made them depended on their energy defense and offense, figuring the average nobody could possibly be strong enough to melee with them.
Brokel wasn't an average nobody. Smiling with a lust he hadn't felt since his last merc job, Brokel ran out of cover and rushed at a fleet zig zag towards the group of guard droids. He saw Calico appear out of thin air between two of them! Hoping to draw the aggro, Brokel let out a fierce battle cry and punched with all his momentum at the chest of one of the droids.

Nirvei wasn’t about to just stand back and let Brokel and Calico have all the fun. She needed to jump back into the fray. The Keretian leapt out from behind the wall and dashed over to the drones. She anchored her left foot while swinging her right leg around and slamming her foot into the side of another one of the robots. Hopefully she could get away in time if it exploded. She didn’t want a repeat of the last drone she took down. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Things weren’t looking good. The intruders had figured out the one weakness of the security drones. Lapis Lazuli had always thought Dr. Criel had fixed that problem. She had been mistaken. ‘I fear I can no longer avoid my task. If they will now be persuaded by the drones to leave, then it is time for me to step in and get serious,’ she thought. The android fired off the electricity she had been charging up. This time she aimed it at the odd looking cat instead of the wall behind him. “You have failed to heed my warning. I have no choice but to deal with you myself!” she announced. Lapis activated the boosters in her feet and used them to charge in closer to the fight. She aimed a punch at the man’s stomach.

The Situation Date: Year 19 of Deragth's Reign Main Characters: Brokel, Nirvei, Calico Primary Goal(s): Escape the Eastern Capital Secondary Goal(s): Liberate the Old HerbalistScenario: The tide of the battle between man and machine began to turn with the discovery of the guard bot's weakness, the melee attack. Brokel, Nirvei and Calico had finally gotten the idea, now unleashing their fury in the form of a relentless melee assault on the bots. The bot that Brokel dealt with immediately produced a large hole in where it's stomach would have been, revealing complicated wiring, which were now surrounded by blue electricity. An explosion soon followed as robot parts were sent flying, and Brokel's hand was possibly caught in the explosion. A split kick soon met another two of the robots, one of them immediately becoming beheaded, revealing yet more complicated wiring, before it blew up in a similar manner as the previous two bots. Less luck was in effect however, with the other bot, as its' head was forcefully pushed into a left tilt, before it dropped its arm... Out of the hole where his arm once was came a sharp blade, glowing in a purple light. Immediately putting the weapon to use, the bot recklessly dashed at the cat, in an attempt to relieve the cat of use of its' left arm. Finally, the kick that Nirvei had delivered to the side of one of the robots left nothing but a large dent in where the collision had occurred, as the guard bot regained its' balance after a stagger movement. Pointing its' laser once again, the bot fired recklessly with red laser bolts at the alien female. Noises of the mad citizens were growing louder and louder, their breathing could virtually be heard... Another minute, and the breathing would be down the fugitives' necks. Character Actions N/A

(OOC: Just to make sure y'all get the right image when you see Calico in your head, think Thundercats but a little more cat-like.)
The robot's sword clattered against the ground where Calico once was. He had teleported out of the way, but not before being hit. The electro-ball that the little girl shot at him had scraped across his back even as he moved. The fur it had moved across stood on end and the skin burned.
Instead of going after the girl, Calico took his anger out on the guard-bot, punching it's already dented head from behind.

"Ugh....." Sally McSally shook her head as she rose to her feet behind the scrap pile. Her eyes lit up as she surveyed the pile, and she selected the pieces she'd use. Some of the tech was amazing! If this was the scrap pile, she could see how the girl was an andrioid. It must've been a very brilliant person who did this work.... and it must've been done before Earth became Hell.
That android girl must be old. Sally would have to ask her after making the decoys.

Brokel leaped back to avoid the explosion, also by luck dodging most of the girl's charge. Her fist caught his ankle and knocked him off balance, giving one of the remaining robots enough of a target to launch a volley of shots off at. Brokel hit the ground hard. After a second Brokel got up without much struggle, and parts of his body that were burnt by the blasts throbbed.
His Ki Sight hadn't registered the girl. And His Ki Sight, being a passive ability passed down by one of his parents, always showed him any ki signature within a city block, without focusing. So, this girl must just be a bucket of bolts like the rest. But she had refrained from attacking them, and she seemed human. She must be some kind of advanced robot.
Brokel balled his fists and zig-zagged at the closest guard drone, aiming a quick jab at its already dented torso. He jumped out of the way in case his punch damaged it enough to explode, and zipped towards the next bot, drop-kicking it and landing into a backwards roll.

The tide of battle was shifting in their favor. Nirvei, Brokel, and Calico had already taken out three of the seven robots that had started to attack them. The small child had decided to join the fight as well though. Nirvei didn’t know who she was or why she was here, but something told her that this little girl would give them a lot more trouble than these flimsy drones they were picking off. Speaking of trouble, an all too familiar sound finally reached the Keretian’s ears over the sounds of their battle. Nirvei had been so busy fighting the robots she had had almost forgotten why they were down here in the first place. The people who were after the reward would be here any second. “Looks like we’ve got more company!” she shouted to the others. Maybe if they were quick they could dispatch the drones before the crowd got here. It was doubtful, but it was worth a shot. Now threatened by the angry citizens once more, Nirvei turned back to the drone that she had just kicked. The girl stepped to the side of the drone that she had just kicked. She grabbed hold of its gun with her left hand and aimed a punch at its face with her right. Her hand still hurt from the first explosion, and she knew it would hurt even more with this punch and possible explosion. Nirvei was more concerned with getting the enemies out of the way for now. She could bandage it up later. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Lapis Lazuli frowned. Aside from dodging her attacks, the intruders were completely ignoring her. ‘Perhaps if I weren’t stuck in this body things would be different,’ the android thought. That was one of the reasons she hated being an android. When you look like a human child, nobody takes you seriously. They laugh off anything you have to say and always think of you as being cute. If only she had some way to find the Dragonballs that Dr. Criel had written about in his notes. Of course, Lapis didn’t even know if they had existed anymore; it had been over 500 years since he wrote that particular article. The android couldn’t let herself get distracted by something like that. Not right now. If these people wanted to ignore her then so be it. It wouldn’t stop her attacks. Electricity shot down Lapis’s arms once more before wildly firing a barrage of electric spheres at the intruders. They would hit the drones as well, but Lapis wasn’t worried since they would just absorb it. “Warning! Intruder reinforcements detected!” sounded the electronic voice that the group had heard upon first entering the lab. Lapis Lazuli stopped firing upon the intruders and looked around with wide eyes. “There are more of them?!” she asked the voice, despite the fact that she knew it couldn’t hear or respond to her. Now the girl was starting to get worried. It sounded like there were a lot of people out there. With the drones falling as quickly as they were, would she be able to take on all of them by herself? She shook her head. ‘It doesn’t matter how many of them there are. I will not abandon the laboratory. It is Papa’s treasure and my home,’ Lapis thought with new found determination. She didn’t care how futile her attempt to defend the lab was. She didn’t care if they struck her down here and now. The android refused to leave. Lapis gathered her energy once more and awaited the arrival of the new enemies.

The Situation Date: Year 19 of Deragth's Reign Main Characters: Brokel, Nirvei, Calico Primary Goal(s): Escape the Eastern Capital Secondary Goal(s): Liberate the Old HerbalistScenario: The battle continued in the fugitive's favor, as they relentless showered their adversaries with melee attacks. It seemed that the battle had already been decided from the moment that they had figured out the guard bots' weakness against physical attacks. A white sphere, which would be considered the head of one of the guard bots was sent flying as it received a powerful blow by Calico from behind. Like the others, what remained of the bot exploded into thousands of tiny pieces, its' circuits completely and utterly fried. Brokel had managed two of the bots superbly well, as, within a flash, the two bots also exploded in a similar manner to the the one that Calico had dispatched. The guard bot that had been attacked by Nirvei gave a high pitched beeping noise, before it revealed a hole in its' stomach, and, before anyone realized, it exploded, once again burning up Nirvei's hand. Circuits of the destroyed bots were sent everywhere, until they appeared to be like crumbs on the ground. Five of the seven guard bots had been effectively dispatched at this point, as the remaining two opened fire, showering the area with a relentless storm of laser bullets, but this would be the least of the fugitives' worries... The rumbling of scattered footsteps grew louder and louder, even more so than before, and finally, the source of the noise appeared. A mob of people of absolutely different backgrounds, some wearing a suit, some in a gang outfit, entered the room uninvited. "There they are!"A number of them cried before the group of hundreds flooded the crowded room, attempting to grab hold of the quartet of fugitives, not at all noticing the guard bots or the little robot child. Screaming and shouting could be heard even from above, as the mob fought each other for the capture of the group of fugitives. The room was in complete pandemonium... Is there any hope of escape?Character Actions N/A

Brokel sprang to his feet from the roll to see the remaining two sentries volley at him and the others. He yelled as he spun to avoid direct hits from the laser blasts. Three shots seared their way across his body, leaving burning lines across his chest, lower back, and stomach. An electric attack from the girl struck his shoulder, knocking him into a clumsy semi-circle that ended with him facing some of the angry civilian mob members that had stormed the room.
"Fuuuuuuuh!" Brokel shouted as he flipped a charging mobster over his back. "Why the heck do we have to be violence magnets!" He grabbed one of the mob's arm and flung them into the group, sending a few of them stumbling. One of the shots from the sentries found its mark on one of his shoulder blades.
That was the last straw. Brokel's patience snapped, and in his rage he threw one of the oppressive mob members directly at the sentry bot that had hit him. He charged into the group, his conscious regaining a small foothold as he battered the corrupt civilians senseless, instead of killing them. He projected Ki in the form of a blade from his right hand as one of the angry mob drew a gun, and he cut the gun in half. He immediately let the Ki sword disperse. The mob began to close in around him.
Brokel was in pain, sweating, out numbered, and on top of that he was beginning to tire out. But he wasn't going to quit. The thrill of battle sent a wave of much needed adrenaline through his body. His strong lungs worked like bellows as he inhaled and exhaled, looking around at the grim, dark faces around him. The muscles on his exposed upper body tensed and then relaxed as his Saiyan battle-lust brought on a feeling of euphoria.
"You won't get me that easily!" Brokel shouted with a dark joy in his tone, and he assumed a defensive stance, focusing on the small Kis around him. Whoever moved first, he promised in his head, was going to get a chop to their jaw.
